COMPETITION:

If you intend to compete in the Technical Paper, Poster, or Design Competition or Academic Olympiad you must register on or before 11:59 PM EST, September 30, 2011 to be eligible to receive any conference registration waivers/reimbursements. Students who register after 11:59 PM EST, October 1, 2011 will not be eligible to receive the registration waiver/reimbursements. No exceptions.

TECHNICAL PAPER, RESEARCH POSTER, DESIGN COMPETITION:

Students competing in the Technical Paper, Poster and Design Competitions need to register for the Student Wednesday Plan.

You will be notified by September 23, 2011 if your Technical Paper or Poster abstract has been accepted to compete.

You will be notified by September 23, 2011 if you have been accepted to compete in the SHPE Foundation Design Competition.

If you ARE accepted to compete in the Technical Paper, Poster, or Design Competitions then your conference registration fee will be waived. You MUST complete registration by October 1 in order to have your fee waived. No waivers will be awarded for registrations received after 11:59 PM EST October 1, 2011.

However, all SHPE students are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible to secure your reservation with hotel room and take advantage of the early bird pricing. Early registration for the conference ends on July 31, 2011. Since the abstracts for Paper and Poster Competitions and designs for the SHPE Foundation Design Competition are due after this deadline, all students are encouraged to register before July 31 irrespective of their intention to participate in the paper, poster, and design competitions. If a student is accepted into one of the competitions, they will be reimbursed for their registration after the conference.

ACADEMIC OLYMPIAD:

All SHPE student chapters sending 10 or more undergraduate students, must compete in the Academic Olympiad.

Students competing in the Academic Olympiad may register for either the Student Wednesday Plan or Student Thursday Plan. Students are reminded that they are responsible for planning their travel to arrive in time for the competition by 7:00 PM EST, on Thursday, October 27, 2011.

Students competing in the Academic Olympiad are required to register and submit payment on or before 11:59 PM EST, October 1, 2011. As outlined in the competition rules, only the one team from each region that advances to the Oral Competition from the Written Competition will have their early conference registration fees reimbursed after the conference.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Student Wednesday Plan and Student Thursday Plan are based on lodging availability. These options will not be available after all lodging is reserved.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Any request for a refund and to cancel registration on or before October 1, 2011, a refund of 50% of payment received will be refunded.

Any request for a refund and to cancel registration after October 1, 2011, no refund will be issued.
